Blake Shelton will be a part of NASCAR‘s return to NBC TV providing the open for network’s broadcast of the Sprint Cup races.
NASCAR is returning to NBC Sports for the first time since 2006 as the network will be broadcasting the second half of the Sprint Cup series starting with the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola this Sunday, July 5th from Daytona International Speedway.
Back in March of this year we reported that the country music superstar had been spotted at Phoenix International Raceway when the Sprint Cup series was at the track for that week’s race. Reports were that he was there to help NBC prepare for their broadcasts of their half of the NASCAR season. Now we have the results of that weekend with Blake Shelton, NASCAR and NBC.
NBC Sports will use the title track from Blake’s current album Bringing Back The Sunshine to open their broadcasts of the NASCAR Sprint Cup races. You can check out a preview of that musical opening above.
The song works well with the backdrop of NASCAR. It makes sense that the network would use Blake Shelton in the open of the races since he is the coach with the most wins on the network’s hit TV singing competition “The Voice” and he will be returning for season nine this fall.
Having been in the country music industry for many years now, I would bet money that since his current single “Sangria” hit #1 this week it will not be long before we hear that “Bringing Back The Sunshine” will also be Blake’s next single.
