Brantley Gilbert received a special gift from a veteran when the American soldier gave him his Purple Heart.
Brantley Gilbert, like many in the country music industry, is a staunch supporter of our military men and women. He is constantly taking part in events that praise and support these American heroes. It was at one of these events on Memorial Day Weekend when Brantley received the surprise gift.
Army veteran Justin Patterson was participating in a Wounded Warrior Project motorcycle ride through Southeast Texas and Louisiana that Brantley was also a part of. Justin met up with Brantley by his tour bus to thank the country singer for his support of the military.
The veteran who served in both in Iraq and Afghanistan told Brantley; “What you’re doing for us, you have no idea what that’s doing for us soldiers. I don’t know any other way to thank you. I can’t give you a Grammy; I can’t give you a country music award. I just have to thank you a million times.”
According to KHOU-TV this was the first of three Purple Heart Awards that Justin earned for being injured in the line of duty. Watch the video of the exchange below.
Thanks for all you do for the military Brantley Gilbert.
THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice Justin Patterson and all members of the US Military past, present and future!

Weeks later Brantley was still floored by the gift and showed it while telling how much it meant to him.
