Reese Witherspoon asked Miranda Lambert to write a song for her upcoming new movie and the country singer-songwriter did just that.
The movie is called “Hot Pursuit” and co-stars Reese and Sofia Vergara in a twist on a Thelma and Louise type story.
CMChatLive.com quotes Miranda talking about the process saying; “Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both. I got inspired. I love Reese and Sofia. It was a bit of a “Thelma and Louise” theme and that’s totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it. It was the first time I wrote a song specifically for a movie, so it was a different experience for me.”
Miranda co-wrote the song with a couple of her recent song writing friends Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon. The song is called “Two Of Crime” and the only requirement that Reese gave Miranda for the song is that it needed to have a “southern and Latin flavor” to it.
Miranda is obviously excited about being involved with the movie in this way. She sent Reese and Sofia a present while they have been out promoting the movie that will be released to theaters May 8th. Reese posted a picture with the gifts to her Twitter account which you can see below.
The song “Two Of Crime” by Miranda Lambert will be available on iTunes April 28th.
