How Sad!
Brad Warren, of the Warren Brothers, has been named in a lawsuit that claims he, his wife and his son were involved in an extreme case of bullying that resulted in the death of a Nashville High School student.
According to Country Weekly, in the suit, the young man’s mother accuses Brad’s son of verbally abusing Spencer in front of other students and bullying him. The suit further claims that Brad’s son told Spencer to “go home and kill himself” shortly before he committed suicide. The mother is holding the family and the school responsible, she says the school was negligent and should have been aware of Brad’s son’s history of bullying.
Brad has released a statement about the complaint through his attorney in Nashville.
We have received the Complaint. The allegations are simply not true. My son is not, and never has been, a bully toward anyone. Parents and fellow students have assured us that the claims in the Complaint are not true. Someone has apparently provided the Mother with false or misleading information.
We are certainly sorry for her loss. Nothing could be worse than losing a child. But, my son is not to blame, and, we have confidence that the legal system will reveal the truth and completely vindicate my son.
Either way, this story is horrific. The truth will come out in the end, but regardless this is still a lesson to us all. Bullying is something many youth face these days, and it should start at home to teach our children to be kind and thoughtful of others. Thoughts and prayers with both families at this time.
