It is because of people just like YOU that become Partners In Hope St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to bring hope to children with cancer.

St. Jude Children’s Hospital was found by Danny Thomas with a simple mission, to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. While the idea is simple, the execution of the dream of Danny Thomas has been anything but simple.

St. Jude Children’s Hospital opened the doors in Memphis in 1962. In the half-a-century since then St. Jude has made huge strides in reaching the goal of its founder. The overall survival rate of the children that come to St. Jude has risen from less than 20% in 1962 to 80% today.

Children that receive treatment from St. Jude (whether it is in Memphis or just down the road at Midwest St. Jude Affiliate Hospital in Peoria) receive the best treatment in the world. What is equally as amazing about St. Jude is that no family ever receives a bill for the treatment that a child receives. Whatever amount is not covered by insurance is taken care of for the parents by St. Jude so that the parents can focus on their children, not how to pay for saving their child’s life.

The main way that St. Jude can provide that treatment for the children with no charge to the families is because people like YOU become Partners in Hope. That’s right, the millions of dollars spent daily to save the lives of children from Central Illinois, across the United States and around the world comes from people just like you.
