Blake Shelton has been tapped to play Wyatt Earp in the new Adam Sandler Netflix movie.
Blake will portray the old west icon in the comedy movie “Ridiculous 6” which was co-written by Sandler who will also star in the movie that is being produced in a deal with Netflix that will distribute the new movie exclusively.
The movie is being billed as a parody to ensemble westerns like “The Magnificent Seven” according to The Wrap. It will also include other co-stars Taylor Lautner, three-time Oscar nominee Nick Nolte, comedian Whitney Cummings, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Dan Aykroyd, Will Forte, Nick Swardson, Terry Crews, Jon Lovitz and Vanilla Ice. A possible aditional actor list includes Luke Wilson, Steve Zahn, Danny Trejo, “Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Parnell and “Breaking Bad’s” Lavell Crawford.
Production on the movie is expected to start in February which would be a time that Blake will be in Hollywood for season eight of “The Voice,” so that works out well for the four-time winning coach of the singing competition.
I wondered if Blake will be wearing a cheesy Wyatt Earp-like mustache for the movie. Since it is a comedy, I would almost bet on it. With that in mind I have doctored the photo below to get an idea of what Blake will look like.
