The female duo of Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye are ready to get their second single “Fly” out and the music video to go with it. Neither will be like their debut single.

Maddie & Tae made country music history when they became only the third female duo in more than 70 years to hit #1 with their debut single. “Girl In A Country Song” definitely hit a nerve with country music fans when it poked fun in a tongue-in-cheek way at what has become known as “Bro-Country” songs. The music video was equally fun and visually fun for the ladies as it parodied some music videos with scantily clad ladies by putting some guys in that role for the video instead.

The second single from Maddie & Tae has more substance to the lyrics. The 19-year-old girls tackle the subject of struggles that people face when trying to make their way in this world and serve to inspire the listener to carry on through the struggles. Music Row reports that the girls were excited about Brian Lazzaro’s idea for the music video for the song as he directed it.

Tae said: “We didn’t want our second video to be anything like our first one, which was so fun. I think Brian really took the idea of how vulnerable you feel when you’re trying and it’s crazy … and found ways that weren’t literal to represent that.”

“Brian’s amazing: the idea of ladders and chairs to show the climb?” Maddie added. “Being suspended, which we are in the performance, is just how it feels when you want everything to happen, but you’re sort of stuck in what you want and how it is.”

The two country singers released the picture below as a tease of what we will see when the official music video is completed and ready for release.
