It was rumored that country singer and "The Voice" TV star Blake Shelton could be singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIX. It turns out he won't be.

While Blake WILL be pulling double-duty by hosting and serving as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live January 24th, the five-time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year may and may not be at home for the Super Bowl, he will not be on the field to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the start of the game.

CNN reports that NFL and NBC have announced that Idina Menzel will have the honor of singing the National Anthem at the start of the broadcast of the Super Bowl. The Broadway singing star rose to global fame after serving as the voice of queen Elsa on the blockbuster animated film Frozen. The movie and Idina even enjoyed major success on the radio with the song "Let It Go" becoming a major pop hit.

R&B singing star John Legend has been tapped to perform "America The Beautiful" at this year's Super Bowl. Pop star Katy Perry will serve as the halftime entertainment this year.

Super Bowl XLIX will take place in Glendale, Arizona at the University of Pheoniz Stadium February 1st. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30pm central time with the game and pre-game festivities airing love on NBC TV.

Who knows, with all the rumored talk about Blake doing the National Anthem this year, perhaps next year they will get him for it or maybe even the halftime show.
