Illinois State Redbirds fans and fans from North Dakota State are on their way to Texas for the FCS Championship on Saturday at noon. The question isn’t, is Texas ready for us? It’s are we ready for Texas? There are many things we do that can only mean you’re in Illinois.
In Illinois we have our own style of the blues, pizza and hot dogs. In Texas they have a ton of things you would only do in the Lone Star State. I went searching and it didn’t take long to find some interesting things.
Here are 10 things you’ll only see in Texas.
- Cowboys go through the drive thru on horseback and one could be expected to recite a verse from a George Strait song at any given moment.
- At the grocery store they announce the finals of the games over the loud speaker
- A homemade truck bed from a mini van
- Speaking of truck beds, how about a truckload of beer.
- The State flag of Texas flies above the U.S flag
- Bathroom signs for men and women have cowboy hats & spurs
- Back to truck beds you’ll see a pool liner filled with water as Texans drive around town drinking beer in their truck bed pool.
- The only state where mentioning Oklahoma can get you hurt.
- Neighbors drive to town on their tractors and riding lawn mowers.
- Finally this list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the drive thru liquor stores.
