Untouchables Tour in Chicago
I recently had a chance to take the “Untouchables Tour”, an entertaining look at the notorious gangsters of Chicago. Chicago has been home to some ruthless gangsters, most notably Al Capone. How “Big Al” rose to power is an interesting tale of bootlegging, murder, and deceit. You can get the whole story on the “Untouchables Tour.”

Tour guide in character
I took the tour this past weekend. It begins near the Holy Name Cathedral at the corner of Sheridan & Wabash. Mobster Dion O’Banion conducted his operations across the street at his “flower shop.”
The tour bus takes you through the streets of Chicago while the guide tells you stories of Capone, The Genna Clan in Little Italy, and John Dillinger. You ride by the Biograph Theatre where Dillinger was gunned down, and the actual spot where the St. Valentine’s Day massacre occurred.
I recommend this tour. I lived in Chicago and visit the city frequently, and I learned not only about it’s mob history, but other tidbits as well.
