The 138th Kentucky Derby will be run this Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Churchill Downs. Today the field was decided at the post position draw in Louisville, Ky. Only 3 year-old horses with enough earnings are allowed to enter the Kentucky Derby. There are 20 slots to fill and every year there is a list much longer than 20 who pay the entry fee of $25,000 with hopes of a chance at Derby glory.

NORMAL – Illinois State University men’s basketball coach Tim Jankovich is leaving for an assistant coaching job at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
SMU announced Thursday that Jankovich has been named associate head coach under new head coach Larry Brown.
